I found this beautiful dress online and fell in love with it instantly! I knew it was the dress I wanted (I am pretty accomplished at shopping online since I can usually tell how something will fit and look on my body), so I began the search for bridal stores that carried it in order to see it and try it on. I finally was able to locate it at the House of Brides in Glen Ellyn, and trying it on only confirmed to me how much I loved it and wanted this to be my dress. Crazy, because it was the only dress I tried on, right? It was just that beautiful! It has an elegant trumpet shape with delicate organza, and just the right amount of lace detail and sparkle on the fitted bodice without being too much or too plain. In order to enhance the lace details in pictures, I ordered the dress in ivory, which to my delight was the perfect shade of ivory: not too yellow and close enough to white. It was a pretty comfortable dress, only getting a little tight in the bodice when sitting down, and it was not too heavy considering the amount of organza on the bottom. What I loved (that others might not) about the train in the back was that it did not bustle at all, so it gave me an excuse to leave it down the entire day; I thought the effort of maneuvering around it was a bit challenging at times but well worth it! Another detail I was really happy with was with the balanced asymmetry of the dress: the neckline rises up towards the right, while the part where the fitted mermaid skirt begins to flare out is angled towards the left. Overall it is such a beautiful and elegant dress, and I was so sad when the end of the day came and I had to take the dress off, because I knew I would never get to wear it again! :(
